Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS)
What is Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS)?
Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) is a specialized form of neurofeedback that uses a very low power electromagnetic field to provide feedback to the brain in real time.
Unlike traditional neurofeedback — which requires active training and conscious engagement — LENS works passively. The system reads your brainwave activity in real time and delivers a subtle signal (far weaker than a cell phone) designed to interrupt rigid or inefficient brainwave patterns.
What does LENS treat?
LENS has been found to be an effective treatment in various disorders and symptoms. While neurofeedback in general is shown to improve symptoms of many conditions and quality of life, LENS specifically may reduce the symptoms of disorders such as ADHD, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and more. Additionally, LENS has been found to be a useful stabilizing agent and symptom manager in those who have experienced trauma, such as people with PTSD or traumatic brain injury.
LENS for Lyme Disease, Fibromyalgia & Chronic Complex Conditions
Individuals living with conditions such as Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue presentations, post-viral syndromes, or other medically complex inflammatory conditions often experience persistent neurological symptoms even after medical treatment.
These conditions frequently involve dysregulation within the central nervous system. The brain can become “stuck” in protective survival patterns — over-activated, hypersensitive, or inefficient.
LENS does not treat the infection or underlying medical condition itself. Rather, LENS can help the brain shift out of rigid patterns and improve cognitive clarity, emotional regulation, sleep quality, overall nervous system stability, and more.
For individuals whose nervous systems are highly sensitive, LENS is often preferred because it is passive, brief, and low intensity..
Here’s what Dr. Fallahpour says about LENS:
“LENS is a form of brain training that uses microcurrent neurofeedback to help regulate brain activity. Its mechanism of action is based on subtle disruptions to dysfunctional neural patterns, encouraging the brain to self-correct and optimize function. Over time, this mechanism can break maladaptive loops of activity associated with symptoms such as anxiety, depression, or attention difficulties. LENS neurofeedback taps into the brain’s inherent neuroplasticity – the ability to reorganize and form new connections.”
LENS at Brain Resource Center
Your care begins with an intake appointment to determine whether or not LENS is the right treatment for you.
Then we administer a comprehensive qEEG Brain Map, which allows us to see how your brain is functioning across different regions and networks. This data-driven approach ensures treatment is personalized, precise, and aligned with your goals.
From there:
We identify dysregulated or overactive brain regions
LENS protocols are tailored based on your brain data
Sessions are brief, targeted, and highly individualized
Progress is monitored and adjusted as needed
